During a trip to Wilsall in April 2017 to visit an art studio, Carol and Helen had a brief discussion about starting a gallery in Ennis, MT for Montana artists to display their work. This was Carol's dream. A list of potential locations ran through their minds, but the timing was not quite right. Both of these artists had just started the MAP (Montana Artrepreneur Program), learning how to take their own art to the next level as a lucrative business. Through the duration of this 1 year course, both artists continued to discuss the possibility of an Art Gallery when all of a sudden a space became available. Taking the plunge by adding 2 more artists, Shanna and Sarah, there were now 4 partners and a 400 sq. ft. gallery space. Artists on Main, opened on August 19, 2017 with a display of Pottery, Fibers, Photography and Painting. Business was good and additional artists were brought in. In October of 2017, their dream location became available at 114 W. Main St. This prime downtown space and the addition of 15 additional commission artists re-opened on November 24, 2017. The business has continued to grow and new artists are added frequently.
